Meet Bob and Jay Provost:

Throughout his youth, Bob went to a dentist in Lincoln, MA. The dentist was an avid bee-keeper, so Bob would drive by hives on the way to the office, and watch the bees right outside the window while at his appointments. He was mesmerized by their industrious behavior, and by the stories his dentist told about how much bees do to contribute to the environment.

30+ years later, Bob was reading an article about the plight of the honey bee in National Geographic. At that point, he turned to his son Jay, who at the time was about the same age Bob was when he became fascinated by bees, and said “How about starting our own hive?”  Since Jay had just learned about the importance of bees in his middle school science class, he was enthusiastic about getting started.

Four years and several hives, bee boxes and honey harvests later, Bob and Jay are continuing to grow their business and spread the word about the many contributions of bees.  Bob continues serving as director of the Middlesex County Bee Keepers Association.

If the bee disappeared off the face of the earth, man would only have four years left to live.
